Academic and Scientific Council

The Teaching and Scientific Council is a governing body and a professional body of the Faculty. Members of the Teaching and Scientific council are: full and associate professors and assistant professors, as well as representatives elected by the students.

 

The Teaching and Scientific Council adopts the acts for the internal organization and work of the Faculty, adopts the program for scientific research work, conducts the procedure and selects in teaching and scientific titles, associate titles, the title of assistant-doctoral student, as well as selects in scientific and honorary titles. The Teaching and Scientific Council of the faculty also:

proposes the number of students enrolling in the first, second and third cycle of studies;

proposes measures to the dean's administration for creation and improvement of the teaching and scientific youth and for work with especially successful and talented students;

proposes measures to the dean's administration and decides on the improvement of the teaching, scientific research and application, i.e. the application work for the computer network;

elects and dismisses the secretary of the Faculty;

decides on the internal organizational units of the Faculty;

adopts a plan for realization of the teaching;

decides on the acceptance of the report on the work of the dean;

gives consent for performing activity of another unit of the University;

gives a proposal for performing activity of another unit of the University;

elects its representatives in the Committee for Cooperation and Public Trust;

proposes the introduction of tuition fees;

decides on the need for a teacher and announces a competition;

considers the initiative for early termination of the election to the title;

forms a commission for preparation of a report for early termination of the election in the title;

elects members of the disciplinary commission for student responsibility;

provides replacement of teachers and associates who use paid or unpaid leave;

invites visiting professors to perform higher education and scientific research activity for a certain period of time;

decides on the initiation of the procedure for election of a dean;

establishes an election commission for conducting the procedure for election of a dean;

adopts a program for professional development and for various forms of non-formal learning;

conducts the procedure for selection of full professors;

adopts rules for studying;

concludes cooperation agreements with foreign universities in accordance with the Law on Higher Education;

decides on concluding agreements for double degree or joint study program in accordance with the Law on Higher Education;

organizes various forms of non-formal learning in accordance with the Law on Higher Education;

adopts a program for inclusion of visiting professors from abroad in accordance with the Law on Higher Education;

performs other activities determined by law, the Statute of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, with this Rulebook and other acts of the University and the Faculty.
