Prof. Dr.sc. Kole Vasilevski graduated at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje in 1988. He obtained his MSc degree in Forestry sciences in 1993 at the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade, Serbia, defending his thesis entitled: “Soils in five-needle pines hybrid trials”. In 1996 he received his PhD degree in Forestry sciences at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje, after defending his thesis: “Soils under Bistra mountain range and their correlation with their pastures and phytocenoses”.

He was employed as a teaching assistant of “Soil science and petrography” in 1988. After obtaining his MSc degree in 1992 he was promoted to assistant, and after his PhD graduation in 1998 he was awarded the title of assistant professor. In 2002 he was awarded the title of associate professor and in 2007 he became full professor. In the years 1998 – 2000 he held the function of Vice Dean at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje, and from 2004 to 2008 he was elected Dean of the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje. From 2008 to 2016 he was Vice Rector of “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje.

Today he is full professor responsible for the following subjects: “Forest soil science with petrography”; “Melioration of degraded forests and scrubs”; “Plant nutrition” (undergraduate studies) and “Forestry soil science with petrography 2”; “Plant nutrition 2”; and “Methods of melioration of degraded forests” (on the postgraduate level of studies).
