Prof. Dr.sc Nikola Nikolov graduated at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje in 1986. He obtained his MSc degree in Forestry sciences in 1992 at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje, defending his thesis entitled: “Dynamics of spread of forest fire on mountain Pogana and critical review of the organization of fire extinguishing”. In 1998 he was awarded PhD degree in Forestry sciences at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje, for his thesis: “Impact of different climatic elements and air pollution on the forest dieback in the Republic of Macedonia”.

He was employed as a teaching assistant of Forest protection in 1988. After obtaining his MSc degree in 1992 he was promoted to assistant, and after his PhD graduation in 1998 he was awarded the title of assistant professor. In 2003 he became associate professor and in 2008 he was promoted to full professor.

Today he is full professor lecturing the following subjects: “Ecoclimatology”; “Protection of forests and green areas”; and “Ecomonitoring”;  (undergraduate studies) and “Forest protection”; “Protection of forests and green areas”; “Impact of climate change on state of health of forest tree species and ornamental trees”; “Air pollution and state of health of forest and ornamental trees”; “Basics of forest pirology”; “Impact of climate change on forest health condition”; and “Phytopharmacy with application methods” (on the postgraduate level of studies).
