Prof. Dr.sc Nikolco Velkovski graduated at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje in 1996. He obtained his MSc degree in Forestry sciences in 1999 at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje, and his thesis was entitled: “Structure and yield of pure beech stands on Malesevo mountains”. In 2007 he was awarded PhD degree in Forestry sciences at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje, after defending his thesis: “Bioecological features and natural restoration of beech forests on Malesevo mountains”. In the period from 1996 to 2006 he was employed as forestry engineer in the PE „Macedonian Forests” PSS „Ravna Reka” in Pehcevo.

In 2006 he was employed as teaching assistant of “Silviculture” at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje. After his PhD graduation in 2007 he became assistant professor. In 2002 he received the title of associate professor and in 2012 he became full professor. In the years 2008 – 2012 he held the function of Vice Dean at the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje.

Today he is full professor and lectures the following subjects: “Silviculture”; “Raising and care of green areas”; “Silviculture of forests with special purposes”; “Agroforestry in rural development” and “Introduction to forestry” (undergraduate studies), and “Silviculture 2”; “Silvicultural techniques for forests of special purposes”; “Silvicultural practices in agroforestry”; “Lawns” and “Raising and care of green areas 2” (on the postgraduate level of studies).
